Tom is an examiner in maths A level for several UK boards including Edexcel.
All boards (Edexcel, AQA, MEI, OCR) are supported, but the Edexcel specification will be used as the exemplar during tuition. As with the new GCSE (9-1) there is an added emphasis on problem solving and applying skills in various mathematical contexts.
Whether the student requires targeted help in a number of key areas or
more extensive support across a range of topics, the focus is on a clear
articulation of the key concepts and techniques grounded in practice.
Coherent course notes or workbooks containing exercises are provided.
The opportunity exists to be regularly tested. Students can, for no extra
cost, take tests at the centre outside teaching times and receive feedback
for continued improvement.
Students have differing needs and the sessions are planned around these.
Each student should feel that they have achieved something important
during these sessions and be able to work more confidently and
independently at home or at school.
