Our Core Skills English programme for Years 7, 8 and 9
Our programme has been methodically developed to concentrate on key elements of English Language from the mechanics of technical accuracy to creative analytical and writing skills across a range of examples and texts.
An integral part of these core skills is made up of sentence construction and paragraphs together with reading and writing for a purpose.
Our Core Skills Science programme for Years 7, 8 and 9
The science GCSE begins in Y9 and we deliver the foundations of all three sciences in small groups. Learning is scaffolded using our revision card system and consolidated using past GCSE questions.
Students benefit from the very small group lessons and the individual attention this affords.
Our Core Skills Maths programme for Years 7, 8 and 9
Our intention in delivering Core Skills Mathematics to students currently in years 8 and 9 is to thoroughly ground the learner in the key concepts and techniques underwriting later study for GCSE and A-level.
Many of the difficulties faced by students in years 10 to 13 when studying maths can be traced back to misunderstandings and a lack of confidence with core concepts and techniques. These form the foundation for the successful study of the subject later.
